Potentially bad news :(
I will get to the potentially bad news in a moment, but first a word from our sponsor:
Hi We are the SDA. We handle all Ukrainian adoptions and we just don't give a damn.
Now, back to your blog.......

Hi everyone,
Got up this morning and guess what. . . . . hahahahaaha No hot water. We had water, just no hot water. I took a very very ice cold shower, and we boiled some water and I rinsed off with that. After my plight DH decided he would just take a sink bath with warm water. We took a walk over to a close bank and exchanged money. DH stood in line for about 15 minutes and when he handed her the money to exchange it, she just pushed it back and pointed to the other line. So then he waited another 10 minutes in that line. We walked across the street and bought the stroller that was $30. It doesn't have very pretty colors, but it will work for what we need it for. We came back to the apartment, and yes the elevator was still broken. After that we decided to walk downtown and eat and get some groceries since we were out of everything. We ate at our favorite restaurant, they are starting to know everything we want before we order. We went to the market and got a few things and came back to the apartment. We took a short and by short I mean like a 1/2 hour nap. Walked over to the orphanage and got T from her groupa and took her down to the slide. She knew I had crackers in my backpack and she kept coming over and trying to open it and she would pull it and then look at me with the please help me look. So I got her and whale some crackers and then they ran around playing. She was picking up rocks and putting them in a hole when a puppy came running through the fence and ran right up to her, of all people. All of us love puppies, but she was terrified, screaming, crying, stiff as a board. Daddy picked her up and the boys who owned the dog smacked it and then an old lady that was walking by stopped the two boys (they looked to be about 16 or so) and she was yelling at them about the puppy and making T cry. Then they both went their separate ways. I tell you what, there is certainly no shyness in these older people here in Ukraine. They do not hesitate to chastise or tell you what they are thinking, no matter who you are. Anyway, DH and whale were running around playing tickle bug and so I kind of started with T and she was really laughing. That is until DH came over to see her then she got a pouty look and hid her face in my shirt. Once he walked away she went back to laughing with me again. We took her back to her groupa and stopped at our other market and got whale some ice cream on the way home. We met M and V on the way into the apartment and here is the potentially bad news. . . . .

She met with the judge today and he is willing to do whatever he needs to do, he is on our side and wants to get us home. That is good news, except he cannot waive our 10 days no matter what. So here is the bad news. You know we had to send documents to the SDA last Tuesday and they got them on Wednesday. Well starting Thursday we started counting 5 working days. That means they should have our document prepared no later than Wednesday of this week. So M called them today to make sure because she will have to get on a train to Kiev tomorrow to pick it up and guess what they told her? Well, she spoke to 3 different people, but they told her that it will be ready by NEXT MONDAY for sure. Well, holy crap, that leaves us sitting here this entire week losing time everyday. They told her "What is problem?, you count 5 days and then pick it up" She told them that she understands that, but when was the paperwork registered, she can't count the days until they registered the paperwork and they said they don't know, that person is not here right now and they don't know. That is when they told her next Monday. I told M that I will go with her if need be and tell them that costs us more money, time, we run out of our medicine by then. She said she may have me call them tomorrow, but they don't care. She said they will not even listen to you explain anything like the old NAC did, they just cut you off. I am not a happy camper and if this does in fact happen, DH may have to come home and leave me here. PLEASE PLEASE pray for us that the paperwork is ready for M to pick up on Wednesday. We need to get home. Like I said the judge is on our side and willing to work with us whenever we get the document he needs. Our days here are fine, they are pretty much the same everyday and we are really doing fine. We just need to get home and back to our jobs. We need some income since we drained absolutely everything dry before we left. I just wish they would understand that and work with us.
Well, there was a little bit of good news this afternoon. When we left to go to the orphanage the elevator was fixed. WHOOO HOOO!!! That made me and my thighs happy. Ok, I am outta here, going to go eat some ice cream.

The good part is the elevator that is for sure! That is too bad about the SDA maybe M can talk to them about it when she gets there.

Poor T but you know she will be a dog's best friend in no time. O is obsessed by furry friends. Speaking of large furry friends have you met Bill yet?

Amy

I am so sorry to hear about this latest development, hopefully it will clear up and you will still get home in a reasonable time. Unfortunately, as you know, things are very different in Ukraine and you have to expect the worst and be happy if it's better than that. You know we are all thinking about you and wishing you the best
